It's that time of year again and a few of you are probably looking at new mobile phones. We have decided to compile what we feel are the best handsets and the best mobile phone deals associated with those handsets. We decided to not make it Sony Ericsson Specific, so that you could get a complete overview of the market. However we will put our SE pick at the top of the list.
1) Sony Ericsson W995 deals - The best Sony Ericsson mobile phone in the market at the moment. Okay the camera is not as good, but the music features are streaks ahead of the rest. It is available on T-Mobile for £32.36 before cash back.
2) Nokia 5530 deals - This is a revised version of the popular Nokia 5800 and comes at a fraction of the price. You can pick this handset up for as little as £21.00 per month on an 18 month deal, a real bargain in our opinion.
3) Blackberry 8520 deals - The new addition to the Blackberry family is a truly welcome addition. The keypad is much better and there is better social networking applications. O2 offer £170 automatic cashback on their O2 unlimited blackberry tariff, a truly great buy.
4) HTC Hero deals - This is the best Android phone yet, however the lack of a Qwerty keyboard may put some people off. Vodafone wins through here with a £35.00 a month tariff giving you 600 minutes and unlimited texts.
5) Samsung Jet deals - 400 minutes and 3000 texts for just £21.20 (after cashback by redemption) makes this Android offering well worth considering on the Orange network. There are some great features on this handset as well, all for under £25.00 per month... not bad.
6) LG Crystal deals - Slightly overpriced in our opinion, but it is a novel phone and worth paying that little bit extra. It has to be the Orange Dolphin tariff here, offering 600 minutes and unlimited texts for £29.17 over 18 months
7) Nokia N97 deals - Lower down the list because there are still a few teething problems with the N97, but it does sport a full Qwerty keyboard and touch screen. You won't get it for free for under £40.00 per month though.
8) Nokia N86 deals - a cheaper alternative and good for gamers, you can pick this little beauty up for £25.00 per month on Orange, which will get you 400 minutes and 3000 texts over an 18 month period.

Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman: Complete Entertainment

The World Mobile Congress 2009 was opened by Sony Ericsson and the first mobile they chose to unveil was the W995 Walkman. The price is as yet undisclosed and it is expected to debut in the market sometime in the second quarter. I can’t tell you how excited I was to see this mobile phone. It is, by far, one of the most exciting phones to come into the market this year.
The W995 Walkman is the first mobile from Sony Ericsson that features Media Go, which is an all-in-one media organization system. Its main function is to transfer and organize as well as play a multitude of multimedia file formats for ease of use. Users can transfer audio, photos, and video between phones and computers without needing to manually convert the files.
The Sony Ericsson W995 Walkman brings about another first for Sony Ericsson. After resisting long enough, they have finally incorporated a 3.5 mm audio jack which allows users to connect any standard headphone set directly into the phone. So far, Sony Ericsson has tended towards using wireless Bluetooth enabled headsets alone.
The other main feature offered by the See Sony's press release is an 8.1 MP Cyber-Shot quality camera with 16x digital zoom, auto-focus, face detection, a flash, image stabilization, Sony's PictBridge, a video recorder as well as the ability to geo-tag pictures via the phone's A-GPS. The phone also has a 2.6” display which lends itself beautifully for everything from pictures to videos to movies.
There are a host of other features in the Sony Ericsson phones that I could go on and on about. But, suffice it to say, that any feature you see in any high end phone is incorporated here. Moreover the colors black, grey and red, in which the phone is available in also make for a great style statement.

The ‘Bass Thumping’ Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman

Ever since I have heard of the Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman, I have been unable to stop myself from thinking about it. I can hardly think of a phone more perfect for me than this particular phone. So far, I have only used some of the more basic models and was just considering buying myself a good music phone. Just then I heard of the Sony Ericsson W395 Walkman and I knew immediately that this was the very phone I was waiting for.
I believe that it has been announced that W395 Walkman is an entry level music phone and Sony’s attempt at bringing music to the masses. But honestly, when I saw the pictures of the phone and read its specifications, I found that there was nothing basic or completely entry level about it. The music player application is fully fitted up with stereo widening and a built-in equalizer function. There are some very interesting features like the Sony Ericsson's TrackID that enables song identification, and PlayNow hook-up that supports downloads of themes, wallpapers and ringtones.
There is a dedicated Walkman key and a directional pad that doubles as navigation controls for the music player. The The offical press release also has built-in stereo speakers and A2DP Bluetooth stereo wireless headphones. The phone also allows you to easily sort tracks by artists and albums and browse through your music collection. The phone comes with a 1 GB memory Stick Micro (M2) card as well as 10MB of internal storage to allow you to carry large collections of your music wherever you go.
And, apart from all of that, the mobile phone contracts is a sleek slider phone that even fashion aficionados will come to appreciate. Like I said, I simply can’t wait to get my hands on this fantastic phone.

Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot

I must confess that until now, I’ve never really been all that interested in Sony Ericsson phones. But then I read on some blogs and news websites about the upcoming release of the new C901 Filippa Cybershot and I actually got a little excited.
I’m a music freak. I like to listen to songs and sounds on my phones, and sometimes they come with a cheap digital camera that really should be outlawed. But, maybe an iPod is what music is for. I’ve sneaked my phone into many a concert and came out with some really bad shots of memorable moments with my friends, not to mention the stage. I believe if I get the Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot the problem of lousy cell phone photos might be over.
The cold hard fact is the Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot has 5 megapixels of digital resolution, and virtually all camera cell phones are lucky to have 2. There’s a world of difference between 1 to 2 and 5, and evidently the price is not supposed to be more pounds that I make in a week. In addition, the Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot has the ability to auto-focus and a flash. That makes it really useful for dark concerts.
Other advantages I’ve read concerning the Sony Ericsson C901 Filippa Cybershot is color choice, an unlocked phone allowing multiple network options, and also the Bluetooth feature.
Using Bluetooth is pretty exciting, especially when out in the real world. The colors are an added bonus, but offer choices for all tastes including Noble Black, Sincere Silver, and Precious Peach. Not to mention, it would be nice to find a camera cell phone that doesn’t require me to go pursue a new contract with a new cell phone company. Overall, I think the C901 Filippa Cybershot is going to be a great addition to my music life.

The Sony Ericsson W995 looks set to be a winner

Sony Ericsson are pushing the boundaries with the release of the Sony Ericsson W995 and we have to say that it has some pretty impressive features. See the official Press release. There are a few things that stand out here that are worthy of a mention. The W995 is a walkman phone that is optimised for music and video playback performance. Sony Ericsson claim that organising your media has never been easier with its Media Go platform that essentially takes all the effort out of sorting throught your music tracks and video.
Sony Ericsson claim that you can stream TV or video via its 3G connection, or (probably the more preferable option) via wifi. OK so it doesn't go as far as the N96 in that it doesn't have a built in digital TV tuner, but that doesn't really matter, considering the format is not supported in the UK anyway.
Other Specs for the Sony Ericsson W995 include a 2.6 inch screen, a mightily impressive 8.1 megapixel camera with auto focus and face detection and an 8GB memory stick. You also get a 3.5mm headphone jack so you can plug in your own headphones. Expect release to be sometime during the summer, but if you can't wait until then, perhaps opt for the Sony Ericsson W705, not quite as good, but hey... Phones are always getting better.

The Sony Ericsson C903 stepping it up a gear

The all new Sony Ericsson C903 is a mid range phone that is due for release later this year. On the face of t there is not all that much to shout about. The camera is a standard 5 megapixel version, a little disappointing given the large number of 8 megapixel versions being announced at the world mobile congress at the moment, but there are some features that make the C903 a little more intriguing.
Firstly there are the dedicated camera keys. This makes the Sony Ericsson C903 a lot more like a dedicated camera device and allows greater flexibility when taking photographs. There is also a protective lens cover ensuring that your camera stays scratch free.
Other smart features include face and smile shutter recognition, which in theory should highlight all those happy faces that you are snapping, as well as "Best Pic", which will take 9 photographs in quick succession and then let you decide which one to go for.
There is a 2.4 inch display, which is a little on the small side for a camera phone, but again we must stress that the Sony Ericsson C903 is being pitched as a mid range phone, so would probably suit the top end of the pay as you go sector. They have also thrown in GPS navigation, which isn't half bad for a phone pitched at the middle of the market.

Music & Style all in one – the Sony Ericsson W580i

The Sony Ericsson W580i is a phone that was released in July of 2007 and is actually a pretty good phone on paper. Unfortunately, just after the phone was released, a lot of people started complaining about the handset and people were saying that the design was poor and that it simply wasn’t robust enough to withstand everyday mobile phone use and a lot of people complained of the keypad cracking and chipping quite easily. I’ve also seen a lot of W580i reviews which mention this problem as well and because of this I can’t really recommend this phone to anyone except very basic users.
I’ve also seen that there are a lot of mobile phone contracts on offer at the moment and I think as we approach Christmas, we can expect to see a lot of deals and offers for great prices. I’ve also seen that the Sony Ericsson W580i orange phone is currently the best value for money but I’d say that if you’re looking for the Sony Ericsson W580i on contract or on PAYG you should shop around before you make a decision to make sure you get the best deal possible at the time.
Overall, the Sony Ericsson W580i is a nice looking phone and does have a nice set of features which include a 2 mega pixel camera and Walkman Player 2.0 but the problem with the keypad puts me off the phone quite a bit. However, I did see a Sony Ericsson W580i video which is definitely worth watching if you’re interested in this phone because it’ll show you the phone’s features in a lot more detail than I can describe and it’ll allow you to see the phone in action before you buy it. All in all, the Sony Ericsson W580i is a nice phone; it’s just a real shame about the keypad and its flaws.

Sony Ericsson’s Latest Walkman Phone – the W705

The W705 from Sony Ericsson is the recently announced phone which is probably going to be the best walkman phone to have ever been released. The phone is equipped with a huge set of high quality features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera and of course Walkman Player 3.0. The phone is also equipped with a WiFi connection and 3G video calling as well as high speed internet. I’ve seen a recent Sony Ericsson W705 review and it seemed very positive about this phone and I think a lot of people will be very pleased to own this device and make use of the exciting features inside.
I’ve also seen that the Sony Ericsson W705 Vodafone phone is the best value for money at the moment but I’d suggest you shop around if you’re looking for Sony Ericsson W705 contracts just to make sure you get yourself the best possible deal. I’ve also seen that there are a lot of mobile deals available at the moment and I think as we get closer to Christmas we’ll be able to see a lot of offers and deals available both online and offline. This phone appears to have a lot to offer so it’ll probably have some great deals available once it is released in early 2009.
Overall, the Sony Ericsson W705 is a great looking phone with a nice set of high quality features. I really think this phone will do very well in terms of sales once it is released. I’ve also seen some Sony Ericsson W705 videos which are worth watching if you’re interested in this phone because they give you a closer look at the features available and they allow you to see the phone in action before you buy it. All in all, the Sony Ericsson W705 appears as though it’s going to be a knock out phone.

A Quick Look at the Sony Ericsson W890i

The new Sony Ericsson W890i is the upgrade for the W880i which was an OK walkman phone. It appears as though Sony Ericsson are back on form with this new walkman phone which doesn’t only offer a great media player but a huge range of other features – unlike its predecessor. The phone has a nice set of features including high speed internet on 3G, a 3 mega pixel camera and 3 video calling as well as more memory. The phone seems to fix all the problems with the W880i and is a very worthy upgrade phone from Sony Ericsson.
I’ve read some Sony Ericsson W890i reviews and they seem to suggest that they also though the W880i was a poor walkman phone but that because of the W890i’s improvements they can finally trust Sony Ericsson again. I also saw a Sony Ericsson W890i video review which shows the phone’s features in a lot more details so you should have a look at that if you like walkman phones. I really do like this phone and I’m not usually a fan of walkman phones – so it must be good!
All in all, the Sony Ericsson W890i contract phone is a great upgrade from the W880i and it’s nice to see that Sony Ericsson noticed their mistakes on the previous W880i. The Sony Ericsson W890i deals available are good as well so you should be able to get hold of one at a good price – this phone was released in February of 2008 so should be dropping in price soon too. All in all, the Sony Ericsson W890i is a worthy upgrade and a great phone. I really like this phone and I think that music lovers everywhere will be very happy with this phone.

A Quick Look at the Sony Ericsson W880i

The brand new Sony Ericsson W880i is a walkman phone from Sony Ericsson which is said to be the best walkman phone yet. However, I’m not convinced and I have to say that I think the W595 is better. This phone has a feature missing which I though would be rather important for a walkman phone – it doesn’t have an FM radio. What’s that all about? I guess because the phone is so small at only 9.4mm thick, they decided not to put one in but I think that’s a mistake. Now for a walkman phone I’d have said that an FM radio was a key feature.
I’ve read some Sony Ericsson W880i reviews and they seem to indicate that this phone is a great walkman phone – but I’m not convinced. Ok, so it has all the music features that you’d expect but without an FM radio I think a lot of users are going to be disappointed. I just think it’s bizarre that they’d knock a feature like this out. In my opinion, the W595 is much better than this phone and it also has a better camera so is an all round phone. I’ve never been a huge fan of walkman phones because I feel that the walkman players are just fancified and I’ve seen a lot of media players on phones that do the job just fine without having to be branded a walkman phone.
There is a Sony Ericsson W880i video review that I’ve seen that seems to show the phone in a lot more detail than anywhere else so you may want to check that out. However, the Sony Ericsson W880i contract phone doesn’t do it for me – However, there are some good Sony Ericsson W880i deals available if you’re interested in buying this phone.

A Glance at the Sony Ericsson K850i

The recently launched Sony Ericsson K850i is the upgrade from the very popular K800i from Sony Ericsson and is a Cybershot phone. The new K850i has a 5 mega pixel camera built in and is, on paper, a worthy upgrade from the K800i. However, Sony Ericsson K850i reviews have suggested that the camera is flawed and that it isn’t worth changing from the K800i to this phone. You’ll be better off getting the C902 from Sony Ericsson instead. This is a real shame because, on paper, the K850i looks so good but the camera problems and keypad issues are limiting the phones capabilities.
The Sony Ericsson K850i contract phone is said to be Cybershot phone and from Sony we know that means a great camera. However, the K850i has a huge problem with the flash which makes it almost a waste of time to buy. Also, the keypad is flawed in design and is very hard to use and fiddly. Unfortunately, this has meant a lot of unhappy customers and several returns. The flash on the camera, although a xenon, is flawed and has problems which result in the photos turning out blurred or completely black – because of this the whole phone is ruined.
All in all, the Sony Ericsson K850i was supposed to be a great camera phone, the reality is that the camera is great, the flash is a huge problem. There are, however, some good Sony Ericsson K850i deals available so you should be able to pick up a bargain. Plus, I’ve found a Sony Ericsson K850i video review which is worth watching to have a look at the features in more detail. The Sony Ericsson K850i is a great phone but in my opinion, if you want a decent camera phone choose the Sony Ericsson C902

A Glance at the Sony Ericsson W302

The new Sony Ericsson W302 is a walkman phone from Sony which is ultra slim and stylish. It may be a good looking phone but in terms of features it’s simply boring and I’d class it as a waste of time. I’m not usually this harsh when it comes to reviewing mobile phones but I have to say that for a phone of late 2008 to not have 3G is simply unacceptable and I think many people would agree. It’s not only that, the phone’s camera is a measly 2 mega pixels which seems like something from the dark ages this year. I’d say if you want a good walkman phone with more features then choose the Sony Ericsson W595 instead.
I’ve read a lot of Sony Ericsson W302 reviews and most seem to agree that this phone is simply a waste of time and to not have 3G is simply stupid on Sony Ericsson’s part. However, there are some good Sony Ericsson W302 deals available and I’m sure you can get the Sony Ericsson W302 contract phone for free but having said that, I really don’t think it’s worth it. If you want a decent walkman phone then like I said, get the W595.
All in all, the W302 is a good phone but I think it’s far too basic for a 2008 release. Plus, it is even too basic for some basic mobile phone users so I think Sony need to rethink this one. I did find a Sony Ericsson W302 video review which will show you the features in more detail. But if you’re looking for that something a little extra then I’d suggest the Sony Ericsson W595 which has a lot more features, 3G included, and a better camera as well as the same media player functions.

A Quick Look at the Sony Ericsson K800i

The Sony Ericsson K800i is a Cybershot camera phone from Sony Ericsson which was released in late 2006. The phone has a great camera and huge range of other features such as 3G and a high quality media player. Considering this phone was released in 2006 it’s a pretty nice phone and does have a great range of features. It was Sony Ericsson’s first 3G camera phone and I think that it serves its purpose well. The phone is a little on the large side and does have a few design flaws but it’s very usable and has a nice set of features for an old phone.
When it was released the Sony Ericsson K800i contract phone was the best camera phone available in terms of mega pixels. Of course, now the norm is 5 mega pixels and a 3.2 mega pixel camera is starting to look a bit old. However, most of the Sony Ericsson K800i reviews that I’ve seen seem to suggest that this phone is still worth the money. It has a Xenon flash which is much better than the standard LED flash and of course, mega pixels aren’t everything. The phone has a nice set of camera features which make it easy to use and it’s easy to get nice shots.
There are been loads of Sony Ericsson K800i deals available and apparently stock is running out so you may want to hurry up if you’re planning on getting this phone. I’ve also seen a Sony Ericsson K800i video review which is worth the watch because it has more detail about the phone’s features and shows the phone in action.
All in all, I like the K800i and I think it’s a good phone but with 5 and 8 mega pixel cameras being released, left, right and centre I think the Sony Ericsson K800i may have to take a back seat.

A Quick Glance at the Sony Ericsson K770i

The brand new Sony Ericsson K770i is a Cybershot phone from Sony Ericsson which has come to replace the K800i. After having a look at this phone though I think that I still prefer the K800i which is arguably the best camera phone available on the UK market. However, the K770i does have a lot to offer and is still a great camera phone. The phone has an LED flash which isn’t as good as the Xenon flash we saw on the K800i but it can still take some great photos. Considering this phone is supposed to be similar to the K800i and was released afterwards you’d expect it to have more features but it is actually not as good as the K800i in terms of features either.
I do like the Sony Ericsson K770i contract phone but I think I still prefer the K800i in terms of features and memory.
I’ve seen several Sony Ericsson K770i reviews and a lot of people seem to be saying the same things. The K800i was much better and it’s a great camera phone but it is nothing compared to the K800i. I do really like the phone but I think the K800i was a much better phone in general.
All in all, I think the K770i is a good phone and I think it is well worth the purchase. There are also some good Sony Ericsson K770i dealsavailable at the moment so you should be able to pick up a bargain. However, the K800i is still my favourite and although the K770i isn’t a bad phone – I think the K800i has an all round better grade to it.

A Quick Look at the Sony Ericsson W595

The new Sony Ericsson W595 is the eagerly awaited upgrade for the problematic W910i. So far it seems as though it’s a worthy upgrade and although the phone is almost exactly the same, it’s a lot heavier and fatter this time around. The phone has a newer camera now standing at 3.2 mega pixels the phone have gained a much needed firmware upgrade which stops the phone from being as buggy as the W910i. Having said that, the phone has only just been released so we’ll have to wait and see if that statement is entirely true – time will tell.
There have been a lot of Sony Ericsson W595 reviews and most seem to suggest mainly positive thoughts about this phone and as this is a walkman phone you can expect high quality music software as well as high quality sound. There have, however, been comments about the keypad and that it can be a little hard to use because it’s so small. Other than that, so far, it’s looking good. Speaking of which, the phone has a nice design as well and is smooth and sleek. It’s also a slider design – something which Sony Ericsson seem to be good at.
There is a Sony Ericsson W595 video review which will give you a chance to see the phone in action and I think you can get some pretty good Sony Ericsson W595 deals available at the moment. I think that you can get the Sony Ericsson W595 contract phone for free - depending on your network choice. Overall, I like the Sony Ericsson W595 and I think it’s a great phone to buy. However, I do think that you’ll have to be a huge fan of music to buy this phone because it’s other features are a little lacking.

A Closer look at the Sony Ericsson G705

The recently released Sony Ericsson G705 is a phone which offers a huge range of features including a 3.2 mega pixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and a host of other communication and entertainment features. The phone has a good look to it as well with a sleek finish and is available in Black or Gold. The phone is also equipped with 3G HSDPA high speed internet which means you can surf the web and download files. The phone also has a huge set of entertainment features such as the fully featured media player which can play most formats of music and video. As a quad band phone it’ll be available worldwide too.
I’ve seen a lot of Sony Ericsson G705 reviews and so far there seem to be no negatives, except that this phone is a bit basic. I agree with this. Since the release of the Sony Ericsson C905 I’ve been expecting a lot from Sony Ericsson. However, the G705 isn’t a bad phone – it’s just nothing special. I also had a look at a Sony Ericsson G705 video review which is worth watching because it explains the features in more detail and you get to see the phone in action. The Sony Ericsson G705 contractphone will probably be available for free and there are also some Sony Ericsson G705 deals available which should mean you can get a good deal on PAYG as well.
Otherwise this phone is pretty basic and there isn’t much left to say. In terms of usage it’s easy to use and I think the features would suit a basic business or personal user. It’s a great looking phone with a sleek design and I think it’s definitely worth buying if you want something basic. If you’re like me and are up for something a little more exciting then you should check out the Sony Ericsson C905 camera phone.

The recently released Sony Ericsson C905 is the brand new Cybershot phone from Sony Ericsson. The phone has a huge 8.1 mega pixel camera and is said to rival the specs of mid range standalone digital cameras. The phone has a huge range of features as well as the camera, including WiFi as well as Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The phone is also able to use high speed 3G HSDPA 3.6mbps mobile broadband internet so you can surf the web and download music and files with ease. The phone also has a good amount of memory at 160MB – although not an improvement from the Sony Ericsson C902.
I’ve read some Sony Ericsson C905 reviews and most have been positive. There has only been one point mentioned and that is about the memory having not been increased from its predecessor. Other than that, this phone appears to be flawless. I’ve also found a Sony Ericsson C905 video review which allows you to see the phone up close and has a closer look at the features available on this impressive phone. I really think the Sony Ericsson C905 contract phone will be a huge seller this Christmas and is set to break some records.
I’ve seen some good Sony Ericsson C905 deals available and I think you’ll be able to get the phone free on contract. The deals are likely to get better as well, with Christmas approaching so quickly. I really like the Sony Ericsson C905 and I think it’s a very good upgrade from the C902. Also, as far as I can tell, people buying smart phones may have to add another phone to their considerations this year. Although the C905 isn’t a smart phone it certainly has a chance at rivaling some of the mid range smart phones from Nokia.

The relatively new Sony Ericsson C902 is the flagship Cybershot phone from Sony Ericsson. The phone has a huge range of features as well as the 5 mega pixel camera. The phone has high speed 3G 3.2 mbps internet as well as Bluetooth and USB connectivity. The phone also has 160MB of internal memory and you can use a Micro Stick to expand. Unfortunately, there is no support for Micro SD cards on this phone. Overall, this phone has a huge set of features and is much better than the previous K series Cybershot phones however, there are some problems with software which have been reported.
I’ve seen a few Sony Ericsson C902 reviews and they seem to be mostly positive and the only problems complained about are software crashes and the firmware doesn’t appear to be 100% robust which is a shame. Although, I’m sure a firmware update will fix this and I wouldn’t class it as a reason not to buy the phone – I mean, look at the N series from Nokia! I’ve seen a Sony Ericsson C902 video review that will let you see the phone’s features and looks in a lot more detail and is well worth watching if you’re interested in this phone.
The new Sony Ericsson C902 contract phone is available for free on most networks and there are also some really good Sony Ericsson C902 deals available so you should be able to get yourself a good deal for PAYG as well. However, software problems are never good and I’m not too sure if I’d buy this phone until a firmware update was released to fix this.
